Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University. The Faculty of Engineering was founded in 1964. The main missions are threefold: first, to produce top graduates who are technologically capable and socially and ethically responsible; second, to increase high-quality research output; and third, to better engage the community, especially the local community.
Our students are learning from programs that are of the highest quality. All degree programs are accredited with professional bodies such as the Council of Engineers, and government and industry organizations. Classes are taught by teaching staff most of whom are trained from renowned universities overseas. By maintaining and continuously improving teaching quality, our graduates are now working in top positions in both government organizations and private companies. In addition, as part of its strategy in playing an international role by providing education for students from other countries, especially countries in the Greater Mekhong Sub-region, the Faculty will offer more international programs and offers 4 scholarships annually to GMS postgraduate students who are interested and qualified to study at the Faculty of Engineering. It was a great honor to be re-appointed to a second four-year term as Dean starting from June 7, 2011. My administrative team this time includes Assist.Prof. Awut Yimtae as Associate Dean for Administration, Assist.Prof.Dr. Sutasinee Neramittagapong as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Sunantha Kingpaiboon as Associate Dean for Research and International Affairs, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn as Associate Dean for Planning and Information technology, Dr. Atip Laungphairojana as Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Mudjalin Poonprasit as Associate Dean for Special Affairs. For the next four years, we aim to lay a foundation to excel in producing students and academic and research output, to expand technical knowledge and expertise of both teaching and supporting staff, to create a strong linkage with alumni, private sectors, community and society in order to better engage in the development of community, in particular the Northeast community, to improve the physical surroundings with an aim to be an example for a “healthy campus”, and to carry on with the construction of a new building to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Faculty in 2014. I am excited to be the head of the team that will achieve all these aims for the future of the Faculty. Associate Professor Dr.Somnuk Theerakulpisut Dean, Faculty of Engineering Khon Kaen University |
