On January 8, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Visanu Tanboonchuy, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Sutasinee Neramittagapong, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering; and Assoc. Prof. Kitirote Wantala, a faculty member of the Department of Chemical Engineering, welcomed Prof. Mei-Jywan Syu, Prof. Chien-Hsiang Chang, and Prof. Yu-Chuan Lin from the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan. The visit was part of academic collaboration discussions and a visit to the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University. They were warmly received by Assoc. Prof. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Panitas Sureeyatanapas, Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and International Relations.
During this visit, faculty members from National Cheng Kung University discussed academic collaboration on developing joint graduate programs, possibilities for student exchanges in the form of internships and cooperative education, and other potential academic partnerships with the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University, in the near future.
National Cheng Kung University is a renowned and historic university in Taiwan, ranked 215th globally by the QS World University Rankings. The university is located in Tainan, a major city in southern Taiwan and the former capital before Taipei. Khon Kaen University and National Cheng Kung University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2020 and have since engaged in various collaborative academic activities, such as institutional visits, meetings to discuss collaboration pathways, guest lectures, and more.
