Faculty of Engineering Discusses Academic Collaboration with Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), and Academia-Industry Consortium, South Taiwan Science Park from Taiwan
On May 13, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chiranut Sa-ngiamsak, Vice Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Affairs, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panitas Sureeyatanapas, Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surasith Piyasin, Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Program Management Committee, Dr. Nawapak Eua-anant, Chair of the Computer Engineering Program Management Committee, and faculty members from various departments, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Chavis Srichan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sora-at Tanusilp, Dr. Norrawit Tonmitr, Dr. Panawit Hanpinitsak, Dr. Arthit Phuphaphud, and Dr. Pattasad Saengwong. Additionally, executives from Academic Clinical Research Office (ACRO), Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Pope Kosalaraksa, Director, and Ms.Thanitta Udompanit, Deputy director for Business & General, welcomed the delegation from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, which included:

The purpose of this visit was to discuss academic collaboration between the two institutions, covering cooperation in research initiatives, personnel exchanges, seminars, workshops, academic conferences, and student exchange programs in biomedical engineering and other fields of mutual interest. Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chiranut Sa-ngiamsak provided an overview of the Faculty and chaired the collaboration meeting. Both parties expressed strong interest in advancing future academic cooperation and agreed to discuss detailed collaboration further.
On May 14, 2024, the delegation from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, visited the activities of the Northeastern Science Park. Ms. Orapan Suwanjit, Assistant Director for Communications and Community Services, Northeastern Science Park, welcomed them and provided an overview of the park. Additionally, the delegation visited various offices within the Northeastern Science Park, including the KKU Smart City research team, where Prof. Dr.Wanida Kanarkard, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rawee Hanpachern, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chattichai Waisurasingha welcomed them and presented various projects undertaken by the KKU Smart City research team, such as smart city development and the use of AI in medical device innovation. Furthermore, they visited the KKU Lithium-ion cell battery manufacturing pilot plant (KKU-Volts), which produces batteries using rock salt and rice husk, promoting environmental preservation and waste reduction.
Prof. Dr. Fong-Chin Su, in his capacity as Executive Director of the Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center and President of the Academia-Industry Consortium, South Taiwan Science Park, expressed his pleasure and impression of the visit to the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University and the Northeastern Science Park. He hopes for future academic collaboration in various fields and assured that the Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center and the Academia-Industry Consortium, South Taiwan Science Park, are enthusiastic about supporting collaborative activities that will benefit both parties.
