ME KKU Hosts "Co-op Senior Talk": Empowering Juniors for the Industrial World

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, the Department of Mechanical Engineering held a special orientation and sharing session titled “Co-op Senior Talk” at Room EN10201. The event was led by Associate Professor Dr. Kiatfa Tangchaichit, together with the department’s Cooperative Education committee, including Assistant Professor Dr. Supachai Polnamtieng, Assistant Professor Dr. Jarupol Suriyawanakul, and Dr. Kritsakon Pongraktham. The session aimed to prepare and provide guidance for undergraduate students before they embark on their professional journeys in the industrial sector.

👨‍🏫 As part of the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, most 4th-year students are required to enroll in the Cooperative Education program, which involves full-time practical training at various factories or industrial enterprises. With a large number of students enrolling each year, choosing the right workplace that aligns with their interests and career goals is a crucial decision. Recognizing this, the department organized this activity to provide students with in-depth information and first-hand insights to assist in their decision-making process.

The day was filled with interactive learning and meaningful exchanges, focusing on providing practical insights where juniors gained a realistic understanding of work environments, organizational cultures, and job responsibilities through the direct experiences of their seniors who had recently completed their placements, while also strengthening the ME community by fostering supportive relationships between students within the department.

💯 Following the success of the event, students are now better equipped with the information needed to select the most suitable internship placements for their future careers. Furthermore, this initiative has significantly strengthened the bonds between students across different years and increased engagement between faculty members and students. This strong internal community serves as the foundation for a robust ME KKU Engineering Network in the future.
