Administrators from Chang Gung University, Taiwan, visited for academic collaboration negotiations with the Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University.

On January 11, 2024, Prof. Thomas Lei, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, accompanied by Ms. Carol Hsia, Administrative Assistant from Chang Gung University, Taiwan, met with administrators and faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University to discuss academic collaboration. ENKKU administrators and faculty members included Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Dean, Assoc. Prof. Chiranut Sa-ngiamsak, Vice Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Panitas Sureeyatanapas, Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Sutasinee Neramittagapong, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Asst. Prof. Jarupol Suriyawanakul, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and Assoc. Prof. Arthit Neramittagapong, Chairman of the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Chemical Engineering. Dr. Nawapak Eua-anant, Chairman of the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Computer Engineering, extended a warm welcome.

During this visit to the Faculty of Engineering, discussions focused on collaborative efforts to develop a joint 3+1+1 program between the College of Engineering, Chang Gung University, Taiwan, and the Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University. Both parties expressed interest in this collaboration, and plans were made to initiate the program within the academic year 2024.

In addition, Prof. Thomas Lei had the opportunity to engage in academic collaboration discussions with administrators and faculty members from various faculties at Khon Kaen University for the development of a joint 2+2 program. Representatives from the Faculty of Science, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pimwadee Pornpongrungrueng, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sukhum Ruangchai, Assistant Dean for International Affairs and Public Communication, Asst. Prof. Dr. Maysaya Thitisaksakul, and Dr. Kamonpan Sanachai  Lecturers in the Department of Biochemistry, as well as representatives from the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy (KKBS), including Asst. Prof. Dr.Ploypailin Kijkasiwat, Assistant Dean for International and Communication Affairs, and Dr. Arpasri Sothonvit, Lecturer of KKBS, participated in the discussions. Additionally, Dr. M.L. Manida Suksawat, Lecturer at the International College, and Ms. Pawinee Khamlar, International Relations Officer from the Faculty of Medicine, also joined the negotiations. Both parties expressed mutual interest and agreed to coordinate efforts to explore possibilities for future academic collaborations.
