Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Engineering

Students are required to publish works derived from their dissertation research or as part of the dissertation in the following formats:

1. Two articles in international journals, or
2. One article in an international journal along with one innovative work/creative work/patent, according to the regulations of the Khon Kaen University /Intellectual Property. This could be one patent and 
3. Create a poster summarizing the thesis research, following the format specified by the Faculty of Engineering.

(1) Compulsory courses

                       (1.1) Fundamental Engineering Course (Non-credit)

                                  For students in Type 1.1 and Type 1.2, they are required to register for and pass the following courses without earning credit (Audit) for a total of 3 credit hours. The result of the study must be at the level of S (Satisfactory).

                          (1.2) Fundamental Engineering Course (for credit)

                          For students in Type 2.1and Type 2.2, they are required to register 

for and pass the following courses, earning credit for a total of 3 credit hours, as follows:

                  (1.3) Specialized Engineering Course (Non-credit)

                         For students in Type 1.1, and 1.2, they are required to register for and pass the following courses without earning credit (Audit) for a total of 3 credit hour, as follows:

                  (1.4) Specialized Engineering Course (for credit) 

For students under type 2.1 and type 2.2, they must register for and pass the following courses, counted as credits. The total credits required are 3, as follows:

(2) Elective Courses

              For students in Type 2.1, they are required to register for and pass the following courses, earning credit for a minimum of 6 credits and/or from other groups or courses that will be opened later for an additional, subject to the approval of the program management committee, and students are also required to register for courses they have not studied at the master’s level as follows:

                For students under Type 2.2, they must register for and pass the following courses, counted as credits, totaling no fewer than 18 credits. Students are required to choose courses from the Computer Engineering group, totaling no fewer than 15 credits, and/or from other groups or additional courses to be opened later, totaling 3 credits, with the approval of the curriculum management committee as follow:

         For student in type 1.1  

          For student in type 1.2

For student in type 2.1

For student in type 2.2

Expected Costs

• Scholarships supporting research and study for graduate students to conduct thesis, dissertation or independent study

For master students: up to 30,000 Baht/person

For doctoral students: up to 30,000 Baht/person

• Award for publishing research work

Doctoral students who have published research work or part of a research work that has been published or accepted for publication in an international journal indexed in SCIE database, starting from the first or second quartile, with at least 2 articles or more (paying only for the second article onwards) and the article must have been accepted before notifying the end of the study. The student must be the first author and will receive a prize of 20,000 Baht.
