On April 29, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering at KKU (ENKKU), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chiranut Sa-ngiamsak, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panitas Sureeyatanapas, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Supree Pinitsoontorn, Head of Physics Department, Faculty of Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arkom Kaewrawang, Head of Electrical Engineering Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jarupol Suriyawanakul, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawapak Eua-anant, Chair of the Computer Engineering Program Committee, along with faculty members including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sappinandana Akamphon, Asst. Prof. Jonggrist Jongudomkarn, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sora-at Tanusilp, Dr. Norrawit Tonmitr, and Dr. Panawit Hanpinitsak, warmly welcomed the delegation from AISSM, NCKU, ROC (Taiwan). The AISSM delegation included:
- Dr. Wen Ling Deng, Counselor of the Science and Technology Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam
- Prof. Yan-Kuin Su, Dean of AISSM
- Prof. Wen-Dung Hsu, Director of Program on Semiconductor Packaging and Testing
- Prof. Gwo Giun Lee, Program on Integrated Circuits Design
- Prof. Chia-Chu Chen, Department of Physics
- Ms. Weili Teng, Deputy Director, Office of Academic and Student Affairs/International Relations
The purpose of this visit by the AISSM management was to discuss academic cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in joint curriculum development, study abroad opportunities, scholarships, student exchanges, and collaborative research, in response to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the two universities in 2021.
On the same day, AISSM team also joined in celebrating ceremony of the Faculty of Engineering, KKU, for receiving the TQC Excellence in Management Award for the year 2023, held at Seminar Room 1, 9th Floor, Pienvichitr Building. During the event, they had the opportunity to meet and take photos with Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, and Assoc. Prof. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who warmly welcomed the AISSM management.
AISSM is one of the colleges under National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), ROC (Taiwan), which was ranked 1st in Asia in the Impact University Ranking category by Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings in 2021. In the same year, NCKU was ranked 224th globally by QS World University Rankings.
Moreover, in August 2023, faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering, KKU, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Sora-at Tanusilp and Dr. Norrawit Tonmitr, had the opportunity to visit AISSM for a period of 17 days to receive training in Advanced Semiconductor Technology as part of the “2023 NCKU AISSM Summer School” program.
